Return International Film & Art Festival presents OFFICIAL SELECTION 2025 – 26 films selected from over 60 countries
The Return International Film & Art Festival will celebrate its fifth edition from October 23 to 25, 2025, at the cultural center and cinema mon ami in Weimar. The focus will be on films and visual art that, under this year’s theme
“Civilization: Did you read the terms & conditions?”
reflects social, digital, and cultural issues.
From around 600 submissions from more than 60 countries, 26 films have been selected to be presented over three days in the categories of Animation, Fiction, and Documentary. The film program will be complemented by Q&A sessions with attending filmmakers, giving the audience opportunities for exchange and discussion.
Even before the festival begins, the workshop program (October 15–24) invites filmmakers, artists, and creative practitioners to hands-on formats. The workshops provide insights into media art, film production, creative strategies, and community building. Partners such as Nivre Film Studio, Bauhaus University, Bigchild Animation Company, THAK, and MENT are shaping this diverse offering.

Festival highlights:
Festival opening on October 23 with concert & drinks in front of mon ami
Gala ceremony and award presentation on October 25, followed by an afterparty at the mon ami cultural center
Accompanying exhibition from October 23 to November 30 at the mon ami cinema
